Capital city development works in Amaravati:
- Telangana became the 29th state of the country on June 2, 2014 after splitting from the united Andhra Pradesh.
- As per the Andhra Reorganization Act enacted at that time, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were allowed to function for a period not exceeding 10 years with Hyderabad as their common capital.
- Accordingly, since June 2, Hyderabad is the capital of Telangana only.
- In Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati was proposed as the capital and work was started.
- Amaravati will serve as the legislative capital, Kannur as the judicial capital and the port city of Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG):
- The raw material collected from underground in India and from the seabed from the Arabian Sea to the Sea of Bengal is converted into CNG gas.
- Along with this, piped cooking gas is sold in households and CNG is sold for vehicle use.
- The central government has reduced the supply of gas to retailers in Nagpur by up to 20 per cent due to decline in production.
- Compressed Natural Gas/CNG is one of the fossil fuels used as an alternative to petrol, diesel, LPG etc.
- CNG is produced by compressing natural gas containing mainly CH4 methane.
- This reduces the capacity at atmospheric pressure to about one percent.
